Hiking & Trails

Various hiking trails are available in the Middle Fork American River watershed in the vicinity of the Middle Fork American River Project, including the famous Western States Trail. These trails offer excellent hiking, biking, running, and horseback riding opportunities. The maps below show the locations of some of the more popular and well-developed trails in the watershed.
